About Me

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."

-Ben Franklin

For the past 14 years, which is almost half of one's teaching career, I have taught English. I spent three years at a Americus (Sumter) High School and then moved to SGTC. I have loved every minute of my teaching experiences; however, I have missed the traditional secondary classroom.

Fast forward to today, and I find myself journeying into the doors of Webster County giddy with excitement. Of course, this change is big for me: Math instead of English, Middle Grades instead of adults, but I am also psyched about this new adventure. As I reflect, I realize that I am the lucky one.

Outside of school, I still spend most of my time with kids. My wonderful husband, Glenn, and I have three beautiful daughters: Maddie, a softball-loving, savvy middle schooler; Alyssa, an energetic and adventurous tomboy; and Kinley Claire, our extremely independent yet silly toddler. Needless to say, we always have a lot happening, and our home is always full of giggling girls in addition to our own. When we are not at the softball field, which is very rare, we enjoy kayaking and traveling, as St George Island is our family's paradise.
